Getting in Salzburg, Austria

By Car
Salzburg is connected to Vienna and Munich through the A8 and A1
autobahns. An Austrian Motorway “Vignette” (road tax) is available for
purchase and is required in order to use the said autobahns. Vignettes
are compulsory for use of all motorways and expressways that are in
Austria.

By Train
An international railway linking the city with the rest of Europe
services Salzburg, like all major European cities. Salzburg’s main train
station, Hauptbahnhof, is located within Salzburg’s new town, to the
north of the River Salzach. International train rides are available from
Zagreb, Munich, Budapest, and Ljubljana (these are just a few of the
destinations available by train).
